Hurt

How could you?
All you do is hurt, and…
Take from those who love you
Enemies forever are you and me

Time is too precious

Dedicated to my beloved Grandfather, May 13, 1929 - September 6, 2004

We walk through our lives with our eyes closed tight. Blinded by the pettiness of our daily routines. We look not toward tomorrow and turn away from all pain. We disassociate ourselves from others' pain. We use this disassociation as a protection. We try not to hurt.

I have gone through my life always distancing myself from loved ones. I only call so I do not have to see that they are ill. I tell myself and tell them "I will be there as soon as I can." I do not mean to do this nor am I trying to be cruel. I try not to be unkind as I make up excuses; "I will be there as soon as I get better transportation." After dependable transportation is acquired; I say, "I'll be there as soon as I have time."

Time is such a funny word. Time is something we all ask for, but never seem to have enough of. Time is something we all have, but are rarely willing to share. Time, in fact, is a precious gift that we can NEVER get back. So much time is wasted on petty excuses; "I'll be there as soon as I have more time." I now wish I could turn the clock back, just one-day. I wish I could have been there for one more day. I would hold you once again and tell you how much I love you. I wish I could tell you how much I miss you and will always miss you. I love you Grandaddy - we all do.

Don't waste time! Be with the ones you love and be certain to let them know that you do love them.
